MediaPact for AI assistants
Search MediaPact from Claude and ChatGPT
Ask your AI assistant for media the way you'd ask a planner. It searches the MediaPact marketplace live and comes back with real placements, flat prices, audience sizes and availability, each with a link to book on MediaPact.
What you can ask
- “Find me 3 pet newsletter placements under $5,000 available in November.”
- “What sponsored content can I get on B2B sites with at least 100,000 monthly visitors? Cheapest first.”
- “Show me AEO-eligible publishers in Health + Wellness.”
- “Tell me everything about that second placement, then show me the seller's other listings.”
Your assistant can filter by format (newsletter, podcast, sponsored content, social, video and more), seller vertical, price, audience size and flight dates, and sort by audience, price or soonest availability.
How to connect
You'll need a free MediaPact account. Create one here if you don't have one yet. Claude is the quickest to set up (about a minute); ChatGPT takes more steps. The server URL is the same for every app:
https://api.mediapact.ai/mcp Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
- 1
Open connectors
In claude.ai, go to Customize, then Connectors.
- 2
Add a custom connector
Click +, then Add custom connector. Name it MediaPact and paste https://api.mediapact.ai/mcp as the server URL. Leave Advanced settings empty.
- 3
Sign in with MediaPact
Click Add, then Connect. You'll be sent to MediaPact to log in. Review what Claude will be able to do and click Allow.
- 4
Turn it on in a chat
In a new conversation, click + in the lower left, open Connectors and switch MediaPact on. Then ask for what you need.
Custom connectors work on every Claude plan (Free plans allow one). On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds the connector first under Organization settings, then each member clicks Connect. See Anthropic's guide.
ChatGPT (advanced)
- 1
Install the ChatGPT desktop app
Signing in to MediaPact from ChatGPT currently only works from the desktop app. You need a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus or above).
- 2
Create a MediaPact plugin
In ChatGPT, open Plugins, connect Plugin Creator and ask it: "Create a plugin for the MCP server at https://api.mediapact.ai/mcp".
- 3
Sign in with MediaPact
In the desktop app, open Settings, then MCP servers. Next to mediapact, click Authenticate, log in to MediaPact and click Allow.
- 4
Use it in a new chat
Start a new chat, tag MediaPact and ask for what you need.
ChatGPT's menus change often. For the current steps, see OpenAI's developer mode guide.
Claude Code, Cursor and other developer tools
Developer tools connect with an API key instead of signing in. An organization owner or admin can generate one in MediaPact under Settings, Organization, AI Assistant Access. The key is shown once. For Claude Code, run:
claude mcp add --transport http mediapact https://api.mediapact.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
For Cursor and other clients, add a remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP server with the URL above
and the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY.
What it can and can't do
Your assistant can
- ✓Search every public placement on the marketplace by format, vertical, price, audience size, flight dates and keywords.
- ✓Pull full detail on a placement: deliverables, creative specs, availability and pricing.
- ✓Show a seller's public profile: audience, verticals and all of their live listings.
- ✓Link every result back to MediaPact, so you can make an offer or book in one click.
It can't
- ✕Make offers, send messages, sign IOs or pay for anything. Deals always happen on MediaPact.
- ✕See your deals, your offers, your messages or anything about your account.
- ✕See private or unlisted placements, sellers' contact details or anything a seller hasn't published.
- ✕Change anything. It is read-only.
Why keep deals on MediaPact? That's where offers, contracts, proof of delivery and payment live. Your assistant does the searching; MediaPact makes sure the deal gets done right.
Frequently asked questions
+ What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT use outside tools and data. The MediaPact MCP server gives your assistant a live, searchable view of the MediaPact marketplace.
+ Does it cost anything?
No. Connecting MediaPact to your AI assistant is free, like browsing the marketplace. You only need a free MediaPact account to sign in. Your AI app's own plan still applies; ChatGPT, for example, needs a paid plan for custom connectors.
+ Can my AI assistant buy placements or make offers for me?
No. The connection is read-only. Your assistant can find and compare placements, and every result includes a link to that placement on MediaPact. Offers, negotiation, IOs and payment all happen on MediaPact, where you stay in control.
+ What data can the AI app see?
Only what any visitor can already see on public seller profiles: live, public listings with their prices, audience figures and specs. It never sees private or unlisted placements, sellers' contact details, other buyers' activity, or your own deals and messages.
+ What does "AEO-eligible" mean?
AEO-eligible means the publisher allows AI crawlers to index its website, so its content can be read by AI answer engines. It does not guarantee that a placement will be cited or mentioned by any AI assistant.
+ How do I disconnect it?
Remove the connector in your AI app's settings, and disconnect the app on MediaPact under Profile, Connected AI Apps. If you used an API key, an organization admin can revoke it in Settings at any time.
+ Which AI apps work with MediaPact?
Any app that supports remote MCP servers. That includes Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code), the ChatGPT desktop app, Cursor and other MCP clients. Web apps like claude.ai and ChatGPT use Sign in with MediaPact; developer tools use an API key.
+ Why can't my assistant find a placement I saw on MediaPact?
Your assistant only sees placements that are live and publicly listed. If a seller shared a placement privately with your brand, open it on MediaPact directly. Try loosening a filter, too: a price limit, for example, skips placements listed as "Please inquire".
